The mighty Mississippi changes course and heads into the Atchafalaya River and Wetlands. Infrastructure along the lower Mississippi grinds to a halt (several ports serving industrial plants, and the water supply for New Orleans disappears almost overnight).
The world that evolves involves the devolution of the United States of America. But New Orleans will not be beaten. They move to continue along the new Mississippi and live on pontoons and houseboats. New Orleans is now a floating city.
That is the world that reluctant witch Marie lives in.
We’ll tell you more about Marie and her brand of magic as the book gets closer to finishing, but it will be crime with a hint of romance.
